GENERAL SECTION
General Section is the place where the budding engineering minds are shaped, the abilities of the students are strengthened, and skills are enriched to the optimum level. English helps the students to enhance their Communication skills, and writing skills in order to perform successfully in personal and professional life. Mathematics helps the students to enhance their logical thinking, the most essential prerequisites for students of all branches of engineering. It also makes them achieve cutting-edge accuracy in all scientific and technological calculations besides achieving clarity and precision in thinking. Physics and Chemistry provide the basic essence of subject knowledge in the field/soil of engineering. The basic sciences predominantly make the students understand the dimensions and the dynamics of the physical and chemical components of things involved in engineering.
ENGLISH COMMUNICATION LAB
In English communication Lab, students typically learn and practice various aspects of English communication skills. This can include developing proficiency in spoken language, improving pronunciation and intonation, learning conversational strategies and mastering the use of language expressions. Students can work on enhancing listening and comprehension skills through activities such as listening to speeches, engaging in group discussions and participating in simulated real-life situations. This lab provides opportunities for students to work on their presentation skills and develop their ability to express themselves clearly and effectively in both formal and informal settings. Overall, the English communication Lab aims to provide a supportive environment for students to practice and refine their English Communication Skills, ultimately preparing them to communicate confidently, competently in diverse personal academic and professional settings
ABOUT PHYSICS LAB:
Physics is a theoretical and experimental science. The theory brings clarity to the mind of the students regarding basic concepts of the subject whereas practical bring clarification to the theory, helps the students to understand the subject deeply, and develops new ideas. Broadly speaking, any engineering technology is a part of applied physics. A proper study of physics is, therefore, necessary for an engineering student to excel, and be more logical, efficient, and capable in their field. Hence, our Physics lab is designed to give practice in taking measurements of various physical parameters by using various measuring devices, analyzing errors in the results, and drawing magnetic lines of force while the students experiment.
The lab is quite spacious and it can accommodate easily 20 students at once to do the experiments at hand. As our lab is east-west faced & located on the first floor of the college building, it is very well-ventilated to ensure proper availability of light in every corner of the lab along with a fresh sea breeze.
FACILITIES OF PHYSICS LAB:
To cover most of the concepts in classical physics, our lab is very well equipped with instruments like Vernier calipers & Screw Gauges to understand the importance of accuracy and precision of measurements, Resonance apparatus set up to calculate the velocity of sound in air, Concurrent forces to understand the concepts like vectors and scalars, Mapping of magnetic lines of force & Meter bridge to understand the basic concepts in electricity and magnetism, Experiments with convex lens & microscope to understand the concepts of refraction of light, Boyle’s law and Newton’s law of cooling to understand the concepts in thermal physics. Also to touch the concepts in modern physics, our lab is equipped with a photocell too.
To give exposure to students' practical skills, a big working table is meant & named as ‘Skilltronix bench’ purely for the projects done by own hands of our students.
To spend most of their time at their lab tables, the students are encouraged and allowed to the lab even after college hours to perform their own experiments as well as to repeat the experiments in the curriculum.
ABOUT CHEMISTRY LAB:
The main objective of engineering chemistry laboratory is to furnish the conceptual understanding of basic principles involved in chemical analysis. The experiment are correlated to the theoretical concepts and develops new ideas. In addition with students know how to be responsible in the lab because lab safety is essential to prevents accidents and keep everyone safe. Students also understand how to dispose of chemical waste. Broadly speaking, any engineering technology is a part of applied chemistry. A proper study of chemistry is, therefore, necessary for an engineering student to excel, and be more logical, efficient, and capable in their field. Hence, our Chemistry lab is designed to give practice in taking preparation of solutions, analyzing neutralization and also water quality.
The lab is quite spacious and it can accommodate easily 16 students at once to do the experiments at hand. As our lab is east-west faced & located on the first floor of the college building, it is very well-ventilated to ensure proper availability of light in every corner of the lab along with a fresh sea breeze.
FACILITIES OF CHEMISTRY LAB:
To cover most of the concepts related to solutions, nature of materials, quality of water and environmental issues like particulate matter. To understand neutralization estimations like HCL,NaOH experiments are use ful.To check the water quality determinations like acidity of water, alkalinity of water, Hardness water, chlorides of water and Do of water are use full. All the glass apparatus and chemicals are available in the lab. Most expensive chemicals with high purity are available. Instruments like conductivity meter to measure conductivity of materials in the form of solutions, digital PH meter to understand nature of substances,Nephlo turbidity meter used to find turbidity of water, High volume air sampler to measure size of particulate matter,Hot air oven to heat the substances and also digital weighing balance is used to weighing process.
For safety measurements fire extinguisher and also first aid kit with all necessary things is available in the lab.
